Tim Kliphuis

Hailing from Holland, the classically trained violinist Tim Kliphuis has rapidly become a name in European swing jazz. His spirit and style very much resemble that of the late Stephane Grappelli: virtuoso violin playing with a love for melody.

Seman Violins hosted a workshop given by Tim on June 21st, 2007. In his workshops, Tim works on the three aspects of jazz violin playing that made Stéphane Grappelli famous: Melody, Tone and Timing. The repertoire comprises standard Hot Club and Swing tunes such as Minor Swing, Summertime, Sweet Georgia Brown and Nuages.
